Yamsquad policies

    Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Yamsquad Limited collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit yamsquad.com or use Yamsquad’s coaching and training services.

    Effective date: 24 September 2026

Review draft: before launch, confirm the legal entity details, registration information, privacy email and governing jurisdiction.

    1. Personal information we collect

When you visit the site, we may collect device information such as your browser, IP address, time zone, cookies, pages viewed, referral source and how you interact with the site.

When you create an account, enquire or purchase a service, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, billing details and information needed to provide the service. Payment card details are processed securely by Stripe and are not stored by Yamsquad.

    • Account and profile information, including training goals and ability level
    • Training and health information you choose to provide, including workout data, heart rate, RPE, strength logs and rowing results
    • Photos or videos uploaded for form checks
    • Messages, coaching notes and service usage
    • Activity data from services you choose to connect, such as Strava or Concept2

    2. How we use your information

We use this information to provide and improve Yamsquad’s website, app, coaching and training services; fulfil purchases; communicate with you; track progress; provide analysis and feedback; prevent fraud; and meet our legal obligations.

Where you have agreed, we may also send information about Yamsquad services. You can opt out of marketing at any time.

    3. Saved sessions, health and training data

The training app saves the sessions planned for you and the sessions you complete. Those records can include workout type, date, duration, distance, pace, power, heart rate, stroke rate, perceived effort, results, completion status and notes. If you connect another service, such as Strava or Concept2, we also save the activity information you choose to import.

Cam and authorised Yamsquad staff can use these records, along with coaching notes and form-check uploads, to prepare your program, review consistency, understand progress and give you feedback. Other athletes cannot see your private training records unless a feature clearly says information will be shared.

Some information may be health data and therefore special-category data under UK GDPR. We process it with your explicit consent so that we can provide coaching, training plans and progress analysis. You can withdraw that consent, although doing so may mean we can no longer provide parts of the service.

    4. Sharing your information

We use trusted providers for hosting, authentication, payments, email delivery, app functions and connected activities. They may process information only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.

Your information may be processed outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens, we use appropriate contractual and legal safeguards.

    5. Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies keep your account secure and remember your settings. We may use device and usage information to understand how the service performs. The current training site does not use advertising cookies. You can manage cookies in your browser.

    6. How long we keep information

We keep your account and saved training sessions while your account is active so that your program, history and progress remain available. After your account ends, we keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the service, legal records, disputes and tax obligations, then delete or anonymise it. Uploaded form-check media is removed when it is no longer needed for analysis. Payment and consent records may be retained where the law requires it.

    7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. This includes asking for a copy of your saved training sessions. You may withdraw consent at any time and complain to your local data-protection authority.

To correct a session, use the available training controls or contact us. To request an export, deletion, or withdrawal of consent, email contact@yamsquad.com. We may need to confirm your identity. Deleting training data may remove progress history and can limit our ability to coach you.

    8. Security and young athletes

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including secure authentication, access controls and encryption in transit. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Athletes under 18 may use Yamsquad only with permission from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly provide accounts to children without the appropriate consent.

    9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our services, legal obligations or working practices change. Material changes will be shown on the site or in the app.

For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact Yamsquad Limited at contact@yamsquad.com.
