About me

    Hi, I’m Cam.

Rower, coach and the guy behind Yamsquad. I help people get faster by training smarter and sticking with it, and I genuinely care about how you get on.

    How I got here

I started out playing basketball. Then rowing took over, and it took me to Northeastern University in Boston, Leander Club and the British rowing system.

It hasn’t all been smooth. I’ve dealt with illness, injuries and a proper bout of overtraining, and I had to rebuild from scratch. That taught me more than any good season did. Doing more isn’t always better. Doing the right thing, consistently, is.

That’s what Yamsquad is about. I coach masters, juniors, elite hopefuls and beach sprinters all over the world, and I treat every one of them as a person, not a spreadsheet. If you’re in, you’re part of Yamsquad.

    No cookie-cutter plans

Your training starts with your life, your history and what you actually want to achieve.

    Every session has a reason

If you don’t know why you’re doing a session, I haven’t done my job.

    Consistency wins

One heroic week doesn’t make you faster. Turning up week after week does. Just yam on it.

    Follow along
